Niels studied Aviation Engineering in Amsterdam and started his career in 2010 as a Shop Engineer for EPCOR, a fully owned subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and part of the AFI KLM E&M Network.
EPCOR provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Auxiliary Power Units (APU) and Pneumatic Components for airlines around the world. Lean Six Sigma philosophy is the way to go at EPCOR. Niels became intrigued by improving processes while extracting knowledge from data and developed his skills after changing his position to Business Analyst / Black Belt. Early 2017 EPCOR spotted the potential of predictive maintenance for APUs and Niels was assigned as Program Manager to develop and introduce this technology at EPCOR. In summer 2017 Prognos for APU was born.
