Rashad joined AACO in 2006. Since 2011, he heads AACO Technical department which encompasses all issues related to Aviation Safety, Aviation Security, Flight Operations, Airspace Infrastructure, and Engineering & Maintenance. He manages three major airline collaboration programmes in Emergency Response Planning & Crisis Management, Aviation Security, and Engineering & Maintenance, in addition to other cooperative projects in flight operations’ tools. He also collaborates and works closely on the regional and global levels with regulators, member and non-member airlines, organizations, and industry to advocate the interests of member airlines, and to promote and foster collaboration between all stakeholders in support of an efficient, effective and sustainable aviation sector.
Prior to this role, he was responsible for Technology issues between 2008 and 2010, and headed the Economics and Finance departments between 2007 and 2017.
Prior to joining AACO, Rashad was employed in the computer software industry. He holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from the Lebanese American University in Beirut, and holds the Aviation Security Professional Manager Certification from ICAO and Concordia University.
