Dr. Beshara Sholy has been part of aviation education for the past 33 years. Prior to joining Abu Dhabi Polytechnic as Head of Aircraft Engineering Technology, Dr. Sholy held various teaching, research and development, and leadership roles. Dr. Sholy served as Chairman of Aerospace/Engineering Technology department at Saint Louis University; there, he championed and led the development of multiple aviation technologies training and educational programs and co-founded two aviation related research centers. Dr. Sholy established and served as co-director of the Sensors and Sensor Systems research center. The center aimed its research at providing solutions based on sensor technologies and to improve sensor systems.
Currently, Dr. Sholy is Head of Aircraft Engineering Technology and the Accountable Manager of Part 147/CAR 147 of EASA/GCAA. His responsibilities span all aspects of the maintenance training organization and associated aviation programs’ development in support of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic meeting Abu Dhabi’s VISION 2030.
Dr. Sholy served as a member of the Board of Trustees and later as President of the Association for Avionics Education, USA.
