Zafar holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) degree from PAF Collage of Aeronautical Engineering.
He has valuable experience in the management, repairs and overhauls of aircraft engines, APU, Landing Gears and aerospace components.
During his 36 years with Pakistan International Airlines, he served in several areas of Engineering & maintenance. He was Chief Engineer -Power Plant and Overhaul Shop from 2002 to 2008 responsible for Repairs and Overhaul of CF6-50/-80C2, CFM56, several types of APUs, Landing Gears and components.
He has been involved with the Service Providers /MROs like GE, PW, CFMI, RR, HAESL, KLM Engg and LHT, and Lessors of repute like GECAS, Ing Leasing, Airbus Leasing, Cathay Pacific, Airbus Leasing, P&W Leasing and several others.
In 2009 he founded a consultancy firm Aircraft, Engines & Components’ Consultation Services (AECCS) that specializes in consultancy for Engines, APU and Components’ maintenance and leasing and worked with many operators & MROs on various projects.
